I created this illustration inspired by Grace's poem "Being." The poem portrays a painful yet liberating process of seeking essence and transformation. Using the metaphor of a caterpillar's metamorphosis into a butterfly, I aimed to reinterpret this universal concept in a unique way, highlighting the connection between loss, change, and rebirth.
This project was made possible through close collaboration with the editorial team, who provided invaluable guidance to capture the poem's nuances in a visual piece that honors its complexity.
